Living with a host family helps you practice English daily and learn about different cultures and lifestyles. Most host families are immigrants who can share their experiences with you.<\/h3>\n<p><b>Responsibilities while living in homestay usually include:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pay your rent on time<\/li>\n<li>Keep your bedroom\/living space clean<\/li>\n<li>Keep the washroom organised, especially if sharing with the host family<br \/>or other students<\/li>\n<li>Do your own laundry<\/li>\n<li>Pay for any long distance phone calls you make from the home stay family\u2019s phone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Additionally, it is important to:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Respect the rules and routines of the family<\/li>\n<li>Let them know when you won\u2019t be home for dinner, or if you\u2019ll be late for<br \/>any appointments with them<\/li>\n<li>Practice English, even if your host family speaks the same language as<br \/>you<\/li>\n<li>Ask permission before inviting friends over<\/li>\n<li>Ask permission to use the telephone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remember:<\/strong>\u00a0In home stay, communication is your key to comfort and success. If you have any problems with your host family, talk to them. Share your point of view politely! If you don\u2019t feel comfortable doing so, talk to you Home stay Program Coordinator.<\/p>\n<h3>Renting your own place<\/h3>\n<p>If you want to rent your own place, the easiest way to look for your new home is by using online websites.
